California's 1879 Constitution

In 1879, California scrapped its original constitution and adopted an entirely new one. This 1879 California Constitution (linked above) remains the state’s constitution to this day. However, the original document was 23-pages long, has been amended nearly 500 times, and today’s version is roughly 350-pages in length.
